History:-
According to Wikipedia :-
The potato was first domesticated in the region of modern-day southern Peru and extreme northwestern Bolivia between 8000 and 5000 BC. It has since spread around the world and become a staple crop in many countries.
Recipe:-
Ingredients:-
- 1/2 kg (approx.1 pound) Baby(little) Potatoes. Scoop balls out of Potatoes if you have big ones.
- 2 tbsp. Butter.
- 1 tsp. Crushed Pepper.
- 4 tbsp. Tomato Ketchup.
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup of fresh Herbs. Any 2 of the following: Basil/Parsley/Mint/Coriander/Rosemary.
- Salt
How To Make:-
- Boil the potatoes until they become slightly soft.
- Drain the water using a Strainer, Colander or a Chinois. Let it sit for some time.
- Take a pan or a skillet and on a medium flame add the butter, the ketchup, the pepper and the herbs to it.
- Saute it for a minute or two.
- Then, add the potatoes to it, make sure that there is not much of water left in the potatoes.
- Then again saute it again and add the salt to it(according to taste).
- Cook it till it gets Golden Brown.
- Serve hot.
Serving Suggestions:-
- Serve hot with a tsp. of butter on the top accompanied with a herb of your choice.
- You can also cut the Potatoes in half as shown below:
